For your peace of mind and preparation, our new appointment experience protocol is outlined below.
PLEASE NOTE: ONLY scheduled patients will be permitted entry to the office, parents/guardians will be asked to wait in vehicles where possible. Patients with fever >38C will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
Day Before your appointment
- You will be emailed a personal assessment screening consent form to review, complete, sign and bring with you to your appointment. Please consider wearing a mask to your appointment.
If you answer YES to ANY of the assessment questions please contact our office, as we will have to make other treatment arrangements, and you will be directed to contact 811 and visit the AHS website and take the COVID-19 self-assessment online tool.
Upon Arrival to Your Appointment (if you have your self-assessment consent complete)
- Clinic arrival, through the main doors
- Hand in your self-assessment consent/ have temperature taken (touchless)
- We will verbally ask you self-assessment questions
- You will be asked to wash your hands with soap and water
- You will be escorted to the treatment operatory by your assistant
- Treatment will be provided
- You will be escorted to a washroom to wash your hands
- Reception will review any details of your appointment or future scheduling
- Clinic departure, through the main doors
Upon Arrival to Your Appointment (no self-assessment consent completed)
- Clinic arrival, through the main doors
- We will verbally ask you self-assessment questions
- Temperature taken (touchless)
- You will be asked to wash your hands with soap and water
- You will be asked to complete self-assessment consent
- You will be escorted to the treatment operatory by your assistant
- Treatment will be provided
- You will be escorted to a washroom to wash your hands
- Reception will review any details of your appointment or future scheduling
- Clinic departure, through the main doors
Your Treatment
- All operatories are disinfected before each patient is seated
- Our team practices strict guidelines outlined by the AHS and our governing bodies when preparing the clinic space
- Our team is prepared to treat our patients and have access to appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Depending on treatment the level of recommended PPE may look different; you may see masks you haven’t seen before, face shields, gowns, head covering, gloves etc. These items will be disinfected, changed or discarded as per manufacturer instructions between patients.
- All surfaces that have made contact with the patient will be disinfected after the patient leaves the clinic space. (chairs, counters, pens, faucets, towel dispenser, door handles etc)
Upon Departure from the Clinic
- Treatment complete
- You will be escorted to a washroom to wash your hands
- Reception will review any details of your appointment or future scheduling
- Any payment may be collected through debit or credit card, tap is available for transactions under $100.00
- Clinic departure, through the main doors
General Precautions
- We ask that patients observe social distancing recommendations of six feet; we have removed most of our lobby chairs to encourage this. There will be no physical contact with patients with the exception of treatment.
- All common areas are frequently disinfected (hallways between reception and treatment space, lunch room, staff change room, light switches, door handles, staff washroom, etc)
- Public areas in use (main washroom, reception desk, entrance, ) are disinfected between each patient use
We are happy to be able to treat our patients at this time and are proceeding with utmost caution, it is our intention to have you feel confident that your safety is our primary concern.
