Cosmetic dentistry refers to dental work aimed at improving the appearance of your teeth, gums and/or bite. It primarily focuses on improving dental aesthetics including tooth color, position, shape, size, and the alignment and overall appearance of your smile. These improvements are not always just cosmetic; many of these treatments can also improve your overall oral health.

There are many options and techniques used to treat teeth that are discolored, chipped, misshapen or missing. From subtle changes to major repairs, we can perform a variety of procedures to improve your smile. We can reshape your teeth, close spaces, restore worn or short teeth and alter the length of your teeth. Common procedures include bleaching, bonding, crowns, veneers and reshaping and contouring.

• Bleaching is a common and popular chemical process used to whiten teeth. Bleaching can be done in our office or in the comfort of your own home. Some people choose to bleach their teeth to make stains disappear, while others simply want a whiter smile.
• Bonding is tooth-colored material used to fill in gaps, repair cracks, or change the color of teeth. Usually only requiring a single office visit, bonding is a convenient option that lasts several years.
• Crowns, also known as caps, cover a tooth to restore it to its original shape and appearance. They are used in more complex cases where other procedures may not be effective. Crowns have the longest life expectancy of all cosmetic restorations.
• Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic placed over the front teeth to alter the color or shape of your teeth. Veneers can be used on teeth that are chipped, discolored, oddly shaped, unevenly spaced or crooked. Little or no anesthesia is needed to apply veneers.
